Retired U of L professor Riffat Hassan is revealing the feminist side of the Quran

bildeDuring Riffat Hassan’s 33 years as a professor of religious studies at the University of Louisville, she often surprised the Muslim students as much as the non-Muslims.

That’s because she taught that the Quran, the holy text of Islam, is a “Magna Carta” of human rights – and absolute women’s equality.
